The Virtual Institute set up by the NETMED Project is
a one-stop shop for users looking for an innovative and marketable solution
for their needs.
The project aims at facilitating the applications of RTD results in the fields
of micromechatronics (MM) in the biomedical industrial sector.
Micromechatronics is the integration of micro- mechanisms, sensors, actuators
and embedded electronics for signal processing and control, and therefore
it makes it possible to create biomedical products that work better, that
are smaller and with higher performance. The NETMED Consortium is also
targeted to educating and training students and researchers in the field,
and to the transfer of skills to industrial applications both by means
of join R&D projects and by training specialised personnel for industry.
A total of 9 partners distributed in 6 European countries constitute the
project Consortium.
